
Wayne Zimmer grew up on the shores of Lake of the Woods and is a lifelong resident of northwestern Ontario. Throughout his career, Wayne has worked as an entrepreneur, trades instructor, tourism and hospitality trainer, computer instructor, and consultant, and spent 10 years with Confederation College as Supervisor of Contract Training, supporting regional campuses with workforce and skills training initiatives.
For the past 20 years, Wayne has played a key role in the expansion of Seven Generations Education Institute, helping grow the organization from a single campus in Fort Frances with 30 employees into the largest accredited Indigenous Institute in Ontario, now operating four campuses, employing over 300 staff, and offering some of the most diverse education and training programs in northwestern Ontario.
Wayne is a member of the Senior Management Team at Seven Generations Education Institute. His previous responsibilities included Post-Secondary Education and Training, and he is currently responsible for Government Relations, Capital Development, and Business Development, supporting the Institute’s continued growth and long-term sustainability.
