
Emmett is a Registered Professional Forester and drone pilot based in Northwestern Ontario. He is the Vice President of the Ontario Professional Foresters Association, Forester for Cat Lake, and Project Manager for the Whitefeather Forest Initiative. Emmett holds a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Genetics and a Master’s degree in Forestry and brings over six years of experience in natural resource management across academia, private equity, Indigenous partnerships, and Far North land-use planning. Since joining the Whitefeather Forest Initiative, Emmett has established a drone operations program to support forest monitoring and stewardship, facilitated training for over 75 Indigenous forest firefighters and helped coordinate a fire crew deployment, secured and managed seven-figure government investments to drive strategic growth and skill transfer within the Initiative. He lives in Thunder Bay.
